More than dotting your i’s and crossing your t’s, professional editing polishes the flow of the story and ensures the pages keep turning. Editors can be our toughest critics, but we’re all on the same page when it comes to creating literary perfection. Work with one of our in-house wordsmiths, or contact us for a list of recommended independent contractors. We do require all accepted manuscripts to undergo professional editing.

Printing
Print-on-demand (POD) platforms have eliminated the need for large offset print runs, warehouse costs, staff to fulfill orders, and shipping costs. Therefore, we as publishers can now produce titles more quickly and with significantly less expense and waste. Partnering with Ingram Content Group’s Lightning Source, we ensure that our spectacular books boast colors that pop and text that looks terrific, both on screen and in print. Authors can purchase unlimited prints of their prose at cost, for as low as $4/copy, for personal use at book signings and events.

Captivating artwork is essential in crafting a great children’s picture book. The best illustrators know that a book’s pictures complement and enhance the author’s words rather than just reiterate them. Well thought-out illustrations are the difference between a passive picture book listener and an engaged story participant. No canned cartoons in this house, our artists hand draw custom creations to delight authors and readers alike.

Distributing
PLP authors can sell books direct-to-customer via personal websites just as easily as they can to a Barnes and Noble across the country. Ingram Book Company (IBC) has the industry's largest active book inventory with access to 7.5 million titles. They serve booksellers, librarians, educators, and specialty retailers. Within hours, our new releases are sold at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, local bookstores, and parish gift shops, throughout the United States and globally. We handle the day-to-day dealings with our printing and distributing partners.

Designing
Covers are only part of the project when it comes to a book’s design. Our experienced designers are pros at picking the right fonts, formats, trim sizes, and pagination strategies to produce the highest-quality professional product. Using Adobe Creative Suite professional programs, our graphic design team typesets, formats, and pre-flights books before they hit the press. And yes, we’ve got eye-catching covers covered as well.

Marketing
We strive to help authors generate long-term income from sales royalties. In this way, both PLP and the author share equally the motivation to efficiently produce and effectively market outstanding works of literature. Sharing the goal of both evangelizing and earning income, we form a network of Catholic writers, artists, bloggers, book reviewers, speakers, and other creatives who support one another and promote each others’ work. From sales go-getting at live conferences to social media campaigns, we know our audience.
